Abstract—Performance of frequency-modulated differential chaos shift keying (FM-DCSK) communication systems with timing synchronization error is investigated over the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and the multipath channels in this paper. A multi-frame FM-DCSK system is proposed, and compared with the conventional one in terms of the effect of synchronization error on the bit error rate (BER) performance. Simulation results show that the proposed system can tolerate more synchronization error than the conventional one.
